The Taylor Miller Law Group team focuses specifically on residential and commercial Real Estate, Corporate, and Estate Law. In this capacity, we can assist you residential and commercial real estate transactions, including the preparation of deeds and mortgages, drafting of agreements of purchase and sale, assisting private mortgagees in lending, spousal transfers, debt consolidations, and contribution agreements. Under Jodie's supervision, the team can assist in the incorporation and organization of companies, as well as drafting the various supporting documents of businesses i.e. shareholder agreement, partnership agreements, general security agreements, promissory notes, other various corporate documents.
Jodie Taylor, B.A., LLB, has practiced law since 2001. Jodie practices primarily in the areas of real estate conveyancing, corporate and commercial law, and wills and estates.
Previously, Jodie was a Senior Partner at an award winning law firm - including Best Law Firm in the South Okanagan, for many years. Jodie was also a finalist in the Best Lawyer category, all by readers of Okanagan Life Magazine.
Jodie is a member of the Greater Westside Board of Trade, Rotary and has been active with The United Way. She has volunteered time and resources to numerous local charities and not-for-profit organizations, as well as acting on various Boards including Children's Showcase.
Jodie is approachable and discreet, and is well versed in assisting people with their business and personal matters throughout their lives or careers. Don has practised law for over 23 years, gathering a wide range of experience over that time. Prior to joining in partnership with Jodie Taylor in 2017, Don accumulated experience first in Saskatchewan and then offshore practising in a variety of areas from criminal and family law to corporate/commercial, real estate and securities law, eventually gravitating to a solicitors practice doing primarily residential and commercial real estate, company law and commercial transactions.
Don represents clients in a wide variety of residential and commercial property transactions including purchases and sales, leases, bank and private lending, and secured transactions; he also prepares and advises on miscellaneous commercial matters such as unanimous shareholder agreements for closely held companies and other appropriate ownership and operating structures.
Don obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in 1994 and admitted in Saskatchewan in 1995. He was admitted in British Columbia in 2012.
